In the annual Tree-Planting Day, the Chairman Wang Xianjun takes the lead to plant over 270 cherry trees in the slope on the left of new campus entrance together with all management staff, teachers and student representatives from March 13 to 16.
　　
  Wherein, 99 trees are given by Mr. Koga Katsumi, the senior member in Japan Sōka Gakkai, the honorary citizen in Dalian and the chairman of Ishikawa Sino-Japan Friendship Association. Wang Xianjun takes his wife to carefully select seedlings in Mount Tai.

  In last October, five leaders in our college inclusive of the Chairman Wang Xianjun and the Dean Yu Jiayou visited Sōka University and communicated with the founder Ikeda Daisaku under the introductions and accompanying of Mr. Koga Katsumi. During that period, Mr. Koga Katsumi bestowed 99 cherry trees to our college taking a long-lasting meaning. He wishes Dalian Art College will closely communicate with Sōka University and establish a profound friendship.
　　
  After coming back to our college, the Chairman had an informal discussion with the teachers and students, and shared his personal perception about the idea of Ikeda Daisaku. The college also founded Institute of Ikeda Daisaku Educational Thought, established the Students’ Association named as “Reading Party about Ikeda Daisaku Ideas” and invited the art delegation in Sōka University for performance and communication. The series of activities are designed to learn and study Ikeda Daisaku educational thought, promote the teaching quality of art education, strength teaching culture communication and drive mutual understanding, learning and communication in education field.
