Ms. Liu Fusha is a Soprano, an Associate Professor of Vocal Music and a member of the Dalian City Musicians Association. She graduated in vocal music from the Department of Music of Shanxi University in 1989. She has trained many vocal music students since she has been a teacher. Many of her students now engage in teaching and work as singers in theatrical organizations. Some of them have also been admitted as vocal music majors in conservatories as performing postgraduates. The graduation theses of quite a few of the students she guided were rated as excellent. While engaged in teaching she had artistic exchanges with and studied with many singers. She learned from famous Italian singer Mitchell Pecile in 2002, as well as learning from and communicating with famous German soprano Barbara. She has been awarded the title of Outstanding Teacher on many occasions and has planned various large-scale evening parties on many occasions. She has held over 20 teacher-student concerts in school, and won favorable comments from the College’s leaders, teachers and students at large. Her article, Some Reflections on Art Education was published in the national-level journal China Urban Economy. Also published were: Brief Comment on the Re-Creation of Singing Songs (2nd issue, 2003 [the 209th issue of all]); A Talk about Basic Skills in Vocal Music in the Research on Mass Culture (2nd issue, 2004); Brief Comment on the Relationship between Chinese Tones and Singing Articulation in the Voice of the Yellow River (2nd issue, 2004). Talking about Basic Skills in Vocal Music from Lyu Bu’s Shooting an Arrow through a Halberd was published in the provincial-level journal The Yalu River and was awarded second prize for college-level scientific research achievements. The Role of Imagination in Vocal Music Teaching (the Dalian Art College journal 1st issue 2009) won a third prize for faculty advisors in the Liaoning division all-round competition of the 2nd “Pearl River Piano” Basic Skills Competition for National Campus Music Education Major Students (the Education Council of Liaoning Provincial Department of Education) July 2002. The vocal performance of One Only Lives Once that she conducted at the 2nd Art Exhibition and Performance for College Students in Liaoning was awarded third prize in December 2008; in June 2009, she won the Bel Canto Gold Award for teachers in the “China Century – National Campus Talent Selection” event in the Liaoning selection division. For years, numerous students that she has guided have won over 20 various provincial and municipal prizes.
