Fan Mingdi was born in Qiqihar in 1971. She studied piano as a child with her mother. She began teaching piano under her mother’s supervision when she was 16. She graduated from the Department of Music Education at the Harbin Normal University with a Bachelor’s Degree. She then studied on the master’s level at the Central Conservatory of Music and at the doctoral level at the School of Education of Beijing Normal University. She is a senior professor in the School of Music at Dalian Art College, focusing on the theories of music education and playing the piano. She has organized several piano concerts and many of her students have won awards of various kinds at several levels of piano competition. Simultaneously, Associate Professor Fan has won the outstanding teacher award several times. Under her guidance, several of her students have been admitted as graduate students at home and abroad, indicating her outstanding teaching achievements. She has won numerous awards, including Outstanding Instructor in International Ethnic Chinese Art Competition, Grade Examination Committee of Chinese Musicians Association Outstanding Instructor Award, Grade Examination Committee of Shanghai Conservatory of Music Outstanding Instructor Award, Outstanding Instructor Award in the 57th German Schumann International Piano Competition, Outstanding Instructor Award in the 3rd Chinese Art Global Competition Piano Performance, and Outstanding Instructor Award in the 4th Asia Music Competition Piano Performance.
