As a non-governmental institution, in recent years, thanks to its strong autonomy in running schools, the College has made outstanding achievements in music teaching and creative works. It has also produced and performed oratorios "Tangruowang", "Soul of Sakura" and the epic "Peace Ode", a show involving paintings, music, dance and symphony. Amongst those shows, "Peace Ode" was successfully staged in the People’s Great Hall not long ago, causing a huge sensation in the capital. The New Year Concert once again demonstrated the strength of the College. The Dean Gao Dalin of the School of Music personally composed and directed those shows. The tracks included not only the "William Tell" Overture, "Carmen" Overture, Haydn's "Farewell," and other well-known symphonies, but also selections from films including "Forrest Gump", "Voice of Music", "Paradise Cinema" and "Pirates of the Caribbean" and other movies, as well as sax solo "Go Home", erhu solo "Horse Racing", suona solo "Hero Song", "Golden Snake Dancing" with percussion and band, and other songs such as "Nessun Dorma", "Song of Dragon Boat " and "I am a Little Bird", "Rajnigandha", "Chrysanthemums Terrace" and "Look Back" , all being classical and wonderful. The concert was totally a mixture of humor, magnificence, affection, and mildness... All audiences were satisfied with interaction, and they applauded frequently. In the chorus "Happy New Year", everyone stood up, laughing and congratulating each other on the New Year.
