The opening ceremony for freshmen in 2014 was held in the small playground in the morning on September 10. The college leaders, school leaders and department principals were present at the ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Vice-president Liu Yongfu.
   
  After the flag-raising ceremony, the Vice-president Liu Yongfu introduced the college leaders to 2014 freshmen one by one. Wan Xin, the president of student union, Xing Junrui, the freshman representative and Lv Baojiang, the teacher representative made speech successively. Afterwards, the president Yu Jiayou made an impassioned speech.

  The president expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt congratulations to the students on behalf of the college leaders and nearly 10,000 staff and students. He also showed his sincere thanks to the students choosing Dalian Art College. The president told the students that the university is a higher starting point of learning, rather than an ending point. The students shall grasp the relationship between information and knowledge in internet era and take advantages of the most valuable time to learn and address more life challenges.

  Afterwards, the Chairman Wang Xianjun had an informal discussion in Lecture Hall in Floor 1 of the library. The chairman indicated that the freshmen furnish fresh blood into our college, making our college thriving and exuberant today. At the same time, the chairman expounded the “Love” spirits of Dalian Art College in virtue of the excellent achievements in “Tao Li Cup”, “Golden Bell Awards”, I will attend a Spring Festival Evening Show and “Summer of Harbin” Concert. The university is the place to achieve the dream and the golden period to learn. The chairman wishes the students may meet various challenges with progressive and never-give-up spirits and merciful mentality when facing new changes and problems in living environment and learning methods. He wishes everyone may give their advantages into full play, respect others, assume responsibilities and make dedications to achieve the lofty and wonderful goals.
