On the evening of April 24, with spring tide surging and flowers blossoming, everything is full of life, and Spring kicked off the 2015 Four Seasons Sentiment Concert in the grand theater in development zone.
The spring concert this year played 8 pieces of music including Forging Ahead along the Socialist Road, A New Song of Herdsmen, Battle Steeds Galloping Ahead, The Silk Road, etc. These classic pieces received the continuous applause from the audience through the excellent performance of teachers and students of the orchestra. Little Apple for the encore orchestrated by president Gao Dalin presented a new feeling to people with the novel performance way. The last piece A Song to Tough Guys for the encore was of heroic spirit and unique style, exciting all the audiences and receiving the constant applause and cheers, and audiences were reluctant to leave. As the brand concert benefiting the people, Spring not only brought aesthetic feeling to audience, but also produced influence upon people’s artistic accomplishment and appreciation taste. In addition to the program list, audiences also received the chic bookmark before the admission in which there was detailed introduction of knowledge and key points for listening to the concert, very warm and sweet.
Chinese traditional orchestra of the college specially invited Mr. Gao Dalin as the permanent conductor. Mr. Gao Dalin was the famous conductor and composer in our country, and provided conduction for Central Philharmonic Orchestra, China Radio & Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra, China National Opera House and other national orchestras. Our Chinese traditional orchestra consists of the backbone teachers and excellent students. Hu Wenjie, the young erhu player, postgraduate student graduating from Central Conservatory of Music and erhu teacher of our college serves as the principal conductor of orchestra. The orchestra aims to strengthen the artistic accomplishment of our young teachers and students, improve the comprehensive art practice ability, and highlight the advantages and characteristics of our college’s education. The purpose of orchestra activity is “to cultivate talents who can inherit the spirit of the Chinese traditional music culture and applied talents who have scientific and professional inheritance ability and can play Chinese traditional music instruments”. The orchestra has performed series of concerts of “Four Season Sentiment” – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter for many times, with performance level receiving the wide recognition and good reputation. In 2012, the orchestra won 5 gold awards and 3 silver awards in Liaoning Colleges and Universities Chinese Instrumental Music Performance, ranking the first in team competition. In the spring of 2014, our orchestra had the performance together with Teacher Yu Hongmei, the famous erhu player, educator and director of Traditional Instruments Department of the Central Conservatory of Music, receiving the high praise from Teacher Yu Hongmei and strong social response.
It is learned that Four Seasons Sentiment Concert is one of excellent projects of culture benefiting the people built by Dalian Art College. Since 2012, whether symphony or traditional orchestral music, the performance in various forms and various styles all showed the charm of music and highly professional level of our teachers and students. This special folk music concert reflected the artistic charm of Chinese traditional music from musical expression form to style of the music.
