On October 24, the Japanese Folk Music Troupe performed at Dalian Art College. With unique artistic charm, it brought magnificent and exciting performances to the teachers and students in our college. This is the first performance of the troupe in Dalian. It is reported that this event is sponsored by the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Dalian People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Dalian Art College, Liaoning Normal University, Dalian Polytechnic University and Japanese Democratic Music Association.
On the afternoon of October 24, the college held a warm welcome ceremony in front of the Cherry Blossom Park for the director of the Department of Culture and Communication of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the leader of the Folk Music Troupe, Mr. Ito, to visit the college with his delegation. President Jiang Maofa addressed at the ceremony on behalf of the chairman and the college. During the friendly exchanges between China and Japan, we concluded a friendship and promoted cultural exchange. We also hoped that the students will make more contributions to the friendly exchanges between China and Japan. During the meeting, Executive Director Wang Jing thanked the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries for inviting the Folk Music Troupe to Dalian Art College and thanked Soka Gakkai, Soka University and Mr. Ikeda for their support in this contact. He said that the music set an international bridge of friendly exchanges and will also deepen the exchanges and cooperation in folk culture and arts between China and Japan.
On the evening of October 24, at the No. 1 Art Studio in Dalian Art College, teachers performed erhu solos and male solos to express their welcome to the Japanese Folk Art Troupe. Subsequently, the Taiko Asuka Group, a member of the Japanese Folk Music Troupe, brought a lively performance of Taiko drum which came out of the traditional percussion mode, with the electronic synthesis of musical instruments to blend kabuki, drama and other elegant arts. Supported with well-designed stage effects, gorgeous costumes, the troupe cleverly expressed the majestic heroics and rigid beauty of Taiko vividly, and showed the amazing Japanese Taiko performance from all aspects. The audience can feel the waves of life energy surging. In the performance, the fighting and hiding of "Goblins" and "Tengu"with tricks, wandering around and looking forward, as well as interacting with the audience with witty expressionscreated a lively atmosphere, and made people applauding and laughing constantly. The Asuka Group also invited students to the stage to teach them how to beat a Taiko so that they wouldhave further feelings and understanding of the traditional Japanese culture.
