The Fourth Symposium of China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes Held at the College

On September 11, more than 60 experts from 22 universities in Hong Kong and Taiwan gathered in our school to attend the "Fourth Symposium of China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes" sponsored by China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes and hosted by Dalian Art College. Those participants were all members of the Alliance. It was the first time of this grand event held in a private school. Theater experts conducted academic research and discussion during the conference, and observed the teaching demonstration, exchanged teaching experience and shared teaching achievements.

 

The opening ceremony of the Symposium was presided over by Liang Yun, Vice President of Dalian Art College. First of all, Wan Lijun, Deputy Director of the Department of Physical, Health and Arts Education under the Ministry of Education, made a speech on behalf of Director-General Wang Dengfeng. She pointed out that since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee has made a series of strategic arrangements to the entire social development and education development. These new ideas, new perspectives and new strategies is an important guide to the development of our higher education today. Yesterday, the China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes achieved fruitful results. On this platform, the Alliance members exchanged experiences on education reform, school development and personnel training, and the wonderful performance brought by organizer gave the students a better experience. I believe the Alliance will certainly make due contributions to the prosperity and development of the country, to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, to the cultivation of all-round development talents and truly fulfilling the fundamental purpose of educating with morality. She also thanked Dalian Art College for its efforts as organizer of the event and said that privately-run institutions are a force of higher education that is paid more and more attention to and is increasingly concerned by the state. I believe such a mighty force will add more color to our personnel training.

 

Professor Xu Yongsheng, Vice Chairman of the China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes and Vice President of the Central Academy of Drama, delivered a speech on behalf of Xu Xiang, the Chairman of the China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes and President of the Central Academy of Drama. He conveyed the spirit of the Fourth Symposium of China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes yesterday, reviewed the achievements of the previous three sessions, and pointed out that the Alliance has played an increasingly important role in promoting exchange and cooperation among colleges and universities and participating in social services. The Alliance has become an important academic platform for drama education in the country. In the future, when colleges and universities are carrying out a "double-top-class" construction, they will continue to use the Alliance as an important platform to exchange experience in drama education, creation and research, to demonstrate the achievements of drama education, and to actively promote drama education and teaching practices.

Ms. Huang Xiaoxiao, Dean of the School of Film and Television of Dalian Art College, delivered a speech to the conference on behalf of Professor and doctoral tutor Chen Ke from the Central Academy of Drama. Professor Chen Ke, a professor and doctoral tutor at the Central Academy of Drama, delivered a speech on behalf of Mr. Chen Jialin, a dramatist, drama educator and drama director. Professor Zhou Xing, the Director of the Guiding Committee of Education on Drama, Film and Television under the Ministry of Education, and Dean of Art and Communication College of Beijing Normal University, also made a speech as an invited guest. They expounded the significance of drama education to quality education from different perspectives and expressed deep thoughts on drama education in colleges and universities. 

 

President Jiang Maofa welcomed the experts and scholars, and introduced in his speech, in recent years, in order to cultivate high-quality applied talents, the college audaciously tried the mode of school-enterprise cooperation and signed cooperation with many professional art groups successively, to provide students with plenty of practical opportunities and train a number of talents coping with the needs of the market and the development of the industry for the community. On behalf of the College, he thanked the China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes for its efforts in building a platform for communication and exchange among major art colleges and universities.

On the afternoon, the Fourth Symposium of China Alliance of Theatre Higher Educational Institutes officially started. Representatives of the participating experts discussed the drama education under the theme of "general education", the topic of this Symposium.

 

During the Symposium, all participating delegates observed the special drama "De Ling and Empress Dowager" rehearsed by teachers in cooperation with students majoring in performance. The drama tells a pleasant and sad story between De Ling, a noble of the Qing Dynasty with the experience of traveling to Europe at the end of the eighteenth century and the Empress Dowager.

 

It is reported that this Symposium will last until September 13.
