The mixed chorus in Dalian Art College won the silver award in the high-profile “the 9th China Music Golden Bell Award Chorus Competition” on September 19 and 20. It was the best performance in national level competitions since the groups in three provinces in the northeast of China participates in competitions.
 
  The mixed chorus sang four songs, Blooming in Yangjiao, Thinking of Qin · Loushan Pass, Beautiful Summer Pasture and March of Matador. Their actual strengthen won the praise from the judge. Xu Peidong, a famous composer said that the competition is such a competition with highest standard and strongest strength since founding the new China. It is not easy for the chorus in Dalian Art College to ascend as a classic chorus from null to founding to perfection.

  The mixed chorus and the chorus in five colleges (Northeast Normal University School of Music, Henan Polytechnic, etc.) jointly sang Thinking of Qin · Loushan Pass in the award party of the 21st day. The song was processed depending on the mixed chorus of the college, and revealed the deep and dignified “The strong pass of the enemy was like a wall of iron, yet with firm strides, we were conquering its summit” incisively and vividly with heroic epic style. The chorus is under the conduct of Sun Yi, director in vocal music teaching and research office.

  China Music Golden Bell Award is the unique and stationary comprehensive music award approved by Propaganda Department of Central Committee, which is held every two years. As the leading project in China music industry, the award belongs to the state and art awards together with Golden Pheasant Film Award, Hundred Flowers Award, China Golden Eagle TV Art Award, Drama Plum Blossom Award and Dance Lotus Award. The session of competition is sponsored by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Chinese Musicians Association, Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department, Jiangsu Literary Federation and Suzhou Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department. The competition is intense, involving 35 teams and 2,500 persons from 29 provinces, districts and cities nationwide, including the group assigned by the organ directly subordinate to the Central Committee of the CCP, China capital police officer chorus, Xi’an Conservatory of Music chorus, Wuhan Conservatory of Music Dongfang Shenyun Chorus, etc. The judges consist of numerous masters, Xu Peidong, Yin Qing, Meng Weidong, Xu Xiyi, Wang Zujie, Ya Lun, Cao Ding, Yang Hongnian, Zhen Jian, Xu Rujun and Xu Shuya.
