Performance or classroom teaching? On May 8, to deepen the innovation reform of artistic practice teaching and build the new mode of talent training with program as carrier, Dalian Art College held the multi-specialty and multi-form filed practice teaching activity by taking the opportunity of playing the original oratorio Soul of Cherry again, changing the performance site into the teaching site, bringing a new feeling to people. In the field teaching, students with specialty of musical performance and musicology had lessons inside the theater, and the professional teacher gave both demonstration and explanation of how to handle the details in the concert and how to make the chorus become more expressive to students. Students from School of Communication with specialty of broadcasting and writing and directing also had lessons inside the theater. According to the different specialties and grades, they are distributed to six teams – scheming and writing, director and program director, field interview, photography and video recording, stage design and teaching practice. Media professional of Liaoning broadcasting and TV station and teachers from various schools taught them hand by hand. Site applause was constant, and many student teams raised the sign carrying the slogan, showing their support for such form.
 

After the teaching, with the arrival of guests, the field practice teaching entered the real performance. Nearly 300 students and teachers from the School of Music played the original oratorio Soul of Cherry, won the constant applause of the audiences. Some students from the School of Communication conducted the photography and video recording, some made the collection and editing, and some interviewed the professional teachers and audiences. The more novel thing was that outside broadcast van of Liaoning TV station also arrived at the special teaching site. Writers and directors guided students for the operation of professional equipment inside the outside broadcast van. Students with specialty of writing and directing were also fascinated, watching the performance in groups, and teachers and students bustling about and carrying happy face could be seen everywhere. One student said that he never imagined that he would have such close contact with the high-end professional equipment of TV station, and felt particularly excited.
Performance atmosphere was lively. Chairman Wang Xianjun made a speech on the stage. When he said “I hope students can have such harvest and smile through the efforts of everyone”, all the audiences gave the warm applause and cheers.
On the 15th anniversary of establishing the college, Dalian Art College introduced large-scale drama, tone painting, dance, symphony, epic and other different types of original works of practice teaching, deepen the reform of practical teaching by taking the original drama, piece of music and project as the opportunity, laying a solid foundation for improving students’ practical ability and quickly adapting to the society and post after the graduation.
