Hu Bo

Ms. Hu Bo was born on 18 March 1957 in Harbin. She is a Class-A vocalist with the China National Symphony Orchestra, a famous lyric coloratura soprano, solo singer with the former Central Orchestra, and a member of the Chinese Musicians Association. She graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music in 1980, and studied under the famous Chinese singer Sun Jiaxin and the famous Chinese vocal music educator Zhou Xiaoyan in succession. She studied vocal music with  Professor Elizabeth Bishop at the Juilliard School (New York, USA), the famous Italian master artist Gino Bechi, and the Professors of Vocal Music Nicola, Rosi, Reymani at Indiana University (USA) respectively from 1980 to 1982 and 1986. As a member of the former Central Orchestra, she visited the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand etc, to perform on many occasions. In 1981, she collaborated with the famous American conductor David Gilbert to perform Hayden’s oratorio “Creation”, and with the famous British conductor Alldis to perform Hayden’s Messiah: IV and Mozart’s Creation. She also conducted the National Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with the famous Chinese conductor Yu Long to perform the German composer Orff’s “Carmina Burana”. In 2002, she once again collaborated with the famous conductor Tan Lihua to conduct the Beijing Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Orff’s “Carmina Burana”. All these performances achieved success and were widely praised.
