Performer Nicolas Prost Visited the College with His Wife

On August 26, the performer Nicolas Prost visited the college with his wife Anne Lecapelain and apprentice Yan Zhengzi. Associate Dean Liang Yun and Dean Zhang Xiaomei of the School of Music jointly played host to Nicolas Prost and his delegation.

 

At the VIP room on the fourth floor of the library, Associate Dean Liang Yun delivered a welcome speech to Nicolas Prost, and introduced to the performers details of the school system and the latest status quo on behalf of the college leaders. Nicolas Prot and his delegation expressed their heartfelt admiration for Wang Xianjun's idea ofrunning a school. After the exchange in f the VIP room, Associate Dean Liang Yun presented a gift to the master.

 

At 3:00 O'clock on the afternoon, performers and teachers and students from the School of Music conducted a wonderful concert in the lecture hall on the first floor of the library. The Art Director Gao Dalin also specially attended the concert and made a concluding statement. Students were filled with admiration to the masters¡¯ superb skills, and gave their thunderous applause.

 

In addition to offering masters' lessons for the students, this exchange program brought together their spectators' collection klassik & blue. Teachers and students from the School of Music and music lovers were all enjoyed, and thought more about music.

 

Background information:

Nicolas Prost is a unique French modern saxophonist and one of YAMAHA's European ambassadors. What makes him special is that unlike other typical saxophonists, he not only plays the sound of traditional saxophone, but also uses electronic saxophone and his own voice. While being a performer in French Lamoureux (Symphony Orchestra), Emphasis Quartet and Saxiana Trio, Nicolas Prost also performs as a soloist in London, Switzerland, Montreal, Mexico, Thailand and has recorded nearly 20 albums which were internationally well received.

Influenced by the saxophone master Jean-Marie Londeix, Nicolas Prost is devoted to developing different saxophone compositions, featuring more than 80 world debates. Composers contributing to his performance include P.Hersant, T.Esaich, T Pecou, N. Bacri, P. Zavaro, C. Lauba, M. Godart, A. Emler, L. Naon and G. Beytelman et al. In addition to his playing career, he is very enthusiastic about teaching and training, and has written a large number of teaching books and music, and cooperated with Billaudot, Lemoine, Fuzeau, Carl Fischer and other publishing companies. Nicolas Prost teaches at the Saint-Maur Conservatory in France and hosts master classes and lectures in Barcelona, Bloomington, Cologne, Amsterdam, Mexico, Prague, Montreal, Switzerland, Japan and Korea.

Yan Zhengzi is students from the School of Music in our college, who is also a young saxophonist.

He was admitted to the saxophone of Saint Maur des Fosses in Paris, France in 2012, and learned from Nicolas Prost. In Paris he has accumulated a wealth of performance experience. His strength lies in classical impression, modern electronics and many other music forms.
