“Four Sentimental Seasons” music concert is the special musical performance with the theme of seasons. It has been 4 years since its first publication. This brand music feast is relied on the reappearance of classics and publication of new works. This music concert is held four times every year. It adopts the alternation mode between national music concert and symphony concert.
The College Chorus performed for this show. It performed “the Beautiful Summer Ranch” and “Azalea Flowers Blooming” which have won the Golden Bell Awards and the works of “Chrysanthemum Terrace” and “the Road to Heaven” which were filled with popular music elements and the original chorus work of “Love Song” which was the first time to meet the public.
As reported, Dalian Art College once conducted the first training for the backbone music teachers of primary and middle schools. We gave them the educational training in the aspects of domestic and international cutting-edge information on art teaching, chorus command and practice, piano accompaniment improvisation. The curriculum arrangement is interconnected with each other and the training contents are abundant and practical.
Background information:
Dalian Art College Chorus composed of students and teachers made a great achievement within these years due to brave exploration and bold practice. We participated in the 7th China Music Golden Bell Award in September 2009 and won the Excellence Award. We fought to the final competition of the 14th Youth Singer Competition Chorus Group in April 2010 and were praised by the expert group. In May, we participated in the 3rd Cross-Strait Chorus Festival and won the “Gold Jasmine Award”. In June, the 2nd Council Member Representative Meeting of China Musician Association Chorus Competition League was held in our college. Our chorus held a music concert which received the praises from on-site experts. We were invited to the Theme Evening of “Seed for Future” which was held by the Department of Education in September of the same year. We won the Gold Award in the 4th Cross-Strait Chorus Competition in May 2011. We won the first of Silver Award in the 8th China Golden Bell Award in June. Through the cooperation with National Symphony Orchestra, we performed our original oratorio – “Johann Adam Schall von Bell” in June, 2012 in the National Grand Theatre which achieved a great success. In 2014, we cooperated with College Symphony Orchestra to perform the original oratorio – “Soul of Cherry” (solo, lead, and chorus) which caused an unprecedented reaction. In September 2014, we participated in the 9th China Golden Bell Award Chorus Competition and made a good result. In the same year, we participated in the First National Bincheng Chorus Competition and won the First Award for Chorus, the Best Command Award and the Best Accompaniment Award. In January 2015, our chorus was the only chorus in China to be on the stage of CCTV to participate in the live Vienna New Year's Concert.
