Ms. Kong Linghua is a native of Shanghai and a member of the Chinese Musicians Association. She served as a teacher at the Taiyuan Teachers College, the Art Director of the Taiyuan Song and Dance Troupe; the director of the Shanxi Music Association, a member of the CPCCC Shanxi cultural working group and a professor at the School of Music at the Liaoning Normal University. In 1996, she was invited to the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, United Kingdom to engage in academic exchange and to lecture. In 2000, she joined the Dalian Art College as a professor and since 2005 she has been a tenured professor at the Dalian Art College. Her published monographs include: An Introduction to Vocal Music, Teaching Methods for Singing, and Let Singing Be More Moving. Her compilations include: 300 Folk Songs of the World, Appreciation of Chinese and Foreign Folk Songs, Vocal Music Education Handbook, Music Knowledge and Appreciation etc. She has published over 20 theses, including: A Discussion on Skill Training in Methods of Singing Folk Songs, The “Emotion Expressing” Efficacy of Articulation and Pronunciation in Singing, The Role of Vocal Variety, Fastness-Slowness, and Firmness-Gentleness in Singing Performance, A Talk about the High Pitch of Voice, Popular Singing Should Also Take a Strict Training etc.
