The ceremony of unveiling the bronze statue of General Zhang Xueliang was held in Young Marshal Tomb, Taian County, Anshan City in the morning on July 25. The bronze statue is made by the Shool of Fine Arts and donated by our college. Kong Feng and Gaowei, the deputy county chiefs of Taian County, and the relevant leaders, the chairman of Dalian Art College Wang Xianjun and the president Yu Jiayou were present at the ceremony.
The statue is made of bronze materials. The draft is finalized referring to the photos in Nanjing National Assembly and other picture information in 1930s. The statue is made in the proportion of 1:1.4, which is 2.65m in height. The base is 1.7m in height. The statue was completed in 60 days from draft, model to molding.
In accordance with the introductions, General Zhang Xueliang was born in Zhangjiawo, Ejia Village, Hengdong Town, Taian County, who is the famous general, politician and militarist in modern China. His first 6 years of childhood in Taian County. The chairman Wang Xianjun notice when investigating Taian County, the Young Marshal Tomb built in honor of General Zhang Xueliang lacks a status, while Young Marshal Tomb is the important symbol of red culture. Filled with the admiration to the patriotic personage, the chairman consulted with Taian County government about donating the bronze statue of General Zhang Xueliang made by Dalian Art College.
During the unveiling ceremony, Gao Wei, the deputy county chief of Taian County said: the memoriam refiects the emotion of the chairman and selfless donation of Dalian Art College is not only the reflection of profound friendship, but also a kind of aspiration and motivation. Taian County government will take the opportunity to expand inputs to develop red tourism and culture industry centering on regional and cultural landscape, and inherit and carry forward the patriotic feelings of General Zhang Xueliang.
After the unveiling ceremony, the chairman Wang Xianjun and the president Yu Jiayou visited the cenotaph of General Zhang Xueliang accompanied by Kong Feng, the head of Taian County. During the process, the chairman was filled with a thousand regrets. The bronze statue is settled here, not only showing our respect to General Zhang Xueliang, but also reflecting the artistic attainment of students and teachers in Arts Major of Dalian Art College. The chairman wishes the people in Taian County carry forward patriotism and create a richer life with the leading of county government.
