The spring breeze brings warmth and all living things go green. The new campus was engaged in greening work in full swing as it is the best time to plant. The college pays attention to the ingenious application of cultural elements while creating a greening system combining point, line and surface. The highlight in campus greening not only lies in creating a green campus, but also strengthening cultural connotation and humanity environment.

  The college greening project was planned combining with the building features, landform, soil features and overall environment. Use green belt to integrate the central teaching resource area and each school, making the static space have visual sense of order. The pattern is reasonable and beautiful with protean planting forms and numerous varieties.
   
  The greening in new campus pays attention to the design idea with humanity sense. Because the school symbol is phoenix, the French Phoenix Trees were planted on the main street around phoenix sculpture in the entrance, meaning the teaching idea of introducing and providing talents. 300 cherry trees were planted on the slope in the left of new campus entrance at the beginning of March. The cherry forest has taken shape. Wherein, 99 trees are given by Mr. Koga Katsumi, the senior member of Japan Sōka Gakkai, the honorary citizen in Dalian and the chairman of Ishikawa Sino-Japan Friendship Association. The college delegation visited Sōka University and communicated with the founder Ikeda Daisaku under the introductions and accompanying of Mr. Koga Katsumi. During that period, Mr. Koga Katsumi bestowed 99 cherry trees to our college taking a long-lasting meaning. He wishes Dalian Art College will closely communicate with Sōka University and establish a profound friendship.
   
  At present, the college has introduced over 30 varieties, including French Phoenix Tree, gingko, lacebark pine, cedar, West Lake crabapple, Fraxinus chinensis Roxb, sakura, cherry, flowering plum, Magnolia tripetala, Sichuan juniper, Chinese peach, etc. There are over 10,000 large tree species and over 40,000 small tree species. The species in different colors and season enrich the seasonal landscape and highlights the environmental culture connation. After paving the turf, the first phase of green project would be finalized before May 1.

  The college organized the students and teachers to participate in voluntary tree planting in spare time and made them involved in campus greening. The chairman Wang Xianjun said: the purposes of greening project were, on one hand, the students may receive artistic edification in the greening and fragrant environment, on the other hand, the tree growing and talent cultivation need a process, so it is necessary to pay painstaking efforts and sweats to achieve the long-range plan of educating people. The new campus is continuously expanding and developing like the tree, and also needs the common cultivation and maintenance of the teachers and students.
