On April 19, “Spring Symphony” large symphony appreciation public lecture sponsored by Dalian Women’s Federation and jointly organized by Dalian People’s Culture Theatre and the School of Music was held in Dalian People’s Culture Theatre.
The public lecture was jointly made by Mr. Gao Dalin who is the famous conductor and composer in our country, president of School of Music of Dalian Art College, music director and permanent conductor of the college as well as Zhang Rongrong who is the general manager of Dalian People’s Culture Theatre. President Gao Dalin introduced the effect of all parts of the symphony orchestra and explained the sound characteristics of each instrument for the broad masses of music lovers from shallowly to deeply. The performance started from a classic William Tell Overture.

Prelude in the excerpt of Soul of Cherry which is the original oratorio of the college was played in the performance. It is created by Gao Dalin and describes the tragic war scene. When the cherry blossom all over the mountains and plains presents after the smoke of gunpowder disappears, secondary theme will be slowly introduced along with the violin solo, orchestra is added, gradually intensifying the music, and finally reaching the climax of the whole piece. Two familiar pieces of music - Castle in the Sky and Flying Free adapted by Gao Dalin bring the climax of the concert.
In the audience’s warm applause, the orchestra played two pieces of music upon the encore. The Flight of the Bumble Bee is the interlude in the first scene of the second act in The Tale of Tsar Saltan which is the opera created by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. After the adaptation of teacher Gao Dalin, the motion of bumble bee is of more sense of tableau and stronger stereo effect with the quick-rhythm symphony. Finally, the concert ended successfully in the warm atmosphere.

After the performance, Gao Dalin, the president of School of Music, said that the performance of the orchestra was very good, tone of voice part of brass is pure, and voice part of string music displays the good training. Everyone can not only ensure the teaching quality in a very short period of time, but also complete the performance task excellently, which embodies the unity and quality improvement of all the members of the orchestra.
It is learned that the Chinese traditional orchestra of Dalian Art College will launch the first performance of “2015 Four Seasons Sentiment Concert – Spring” on April 24. Let us meet in the grand theatre in development zone and enjoy the delicious music feast.
